GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION
What is Dungeons & Dames West?
Dungeons & Dames is an immersive, women-only D&D retreat featuring three curated one-shot adventures, gourmet meals, character gifts, lore-based storytelling, and optional add-ons like massage and photography. The West edition draws from a brand-new legend and is hosted in a stunning retreat space near Bear Lake, Utah.
When is the event?
October 17–19, 2025. Check-in begins at 4:00 PM Friday and check-out is by 10:00 AM Sunday.
Where is the retreat located?
The exact address will be provided to registered attendees, but it is located near Bear Lake, UT. This location is chosen for its mountain-lake beauty.
Is this an overnight event?
Yes. All tickets include lodging, meals, games, and immersive story experiences.
Is the event 21+?
Yes. While we prioritize attendees who are 21 and older, some exceptions may be made for guests aged 18–20 on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out before booking.
GAMEPLAY & STORYLINE
Do I need to bring a character?
Up to you! You are more than welcome to bring your own level 5 DnD 5e (2014) built characters. All attendees have the option to receive a pre-generated character designed to tie into the lore and themes of the retreat.
How many games will I play?
You will participate in three full one-shots across the weekend — two on Saturday and one on Sunday. Each session is about 4 hours long.
Do I need prior D&D experience?
Not at all! Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or brand new to tabletop RPGs, this experience is beginner-friendly and welcoming to all.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
What are the lodging tiers?
You can choose from several lodging tiers ranging from shared bunks to private luxury rooms. Each tier is themed and priced accordingly (e.g., Moonwake, Tidehall, Crestspire).
Are meals included?
Yes! All meals are included, with a focus on locally inspired, immersive menus. Dietary accommodations are available — just let us know your needs after registration.
What kind of food can I expect?
Each meal is designed around the story. from hearty breakfasts, build your own grain bowls to BBQ, and a grand feast, there is all sorts of food!
Are alcohol or cannabis allowed?
Alcohol is provided in moderation. No outside alcohol is allowed. Cannabis laws will be followed based on Utah regulations — please inquire directly.
Can I bring my own dice, cosplay, or character items?
Absolutely! While the retreat provides everything needed, you’re welcome to bring personal items to enhance your immersion.

Yes! You’ll be able to add:
A professional 20-minute photo session
A 30-minute massage

Can I opt out of any of the immersive elements?
Yes. While we hope you engage fully, you can opt out of certain elements like scroll hunts, ritual participation, or journal reading if needed.
SAFETY, ACCESSIBILITY & POLICIES
Is the venue accessible?
Some lodging tiers offer more accessible rooms and amenities than others. Please contact us directly so we can ensure the best fit for your needs.
Are there content warnings?
Yes. Our DMs are informed by your preferences and triggers (gathered in the pre-event survey). Commonly excluded themes include:
SA or sexual violence
Cruelty to animals or children
Excessive gore or horror
Excessive sexual content
Can I cancel or transfer my ticket?
Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred if you notify us at least 30 days before the retreat. Add-ons are not guaranteed to transfer.
